MY GIFT TO YOU: Enrichment for your heart, your mind and your soul
My Favorite Written Work
The Desiderata by Max Ehrmann, cir. 1920s:
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME
I was born in a little house on the Oak Alley Plantation property. Dr. Campbell made house calls in those days–no doubt. Currently, that little house is a bed and breakfast. In 1985, I actually returned to Oak Alley and worked as an extra in the re-make of “The Long Hot Summer." You can see me in that movie serving coffee to Cybill Sheppard. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089500/
Maternally, my ancestors are a mixture of American Indian and African-American. Paternally, the story of my French-Creole ancestry was of an immigrant named Jean Louis Abadie from France who settled along the river road near Donaldsonville, La. and fell in love with and married a Negro woman. My father’s childhood friends were folks like Chef John Folse and his brother Jerry Folse.
Currently divorced, I am extremely grateful for my lifestyle. I spend much of my time devoted to making a positive change in my life and the lives of many others. I love to paint on canvas and I exhibit my work at least three times a year...On Saturday, April 17th I did a presentation of my artwork which I entitled THE BEAUTY OF THE COSMOS and was informed that I need to bring my paintings to Royal Street-So I will... I have to admit that I learned the hard way about what true friendship is. My choices these days are based solely on my value system.

My Feelings:::
We are the Earth and the Earth is US. I am an Ambassador of all things good and positive
I love that my life and my actions are reflective of a spiritual being that transcends all races, religions and cultures. I am a child of the universe -no less than the trees and the stars, I have a right to be here and I have so, so much to offer; I love the freedom that comes with that philosophy.

FRIEND TO NO CRIMINAL - NSU CAMPUS POLICE CRIME PREVENTION OFFICER
CRIME WENT DOWN - I WENT UP! AS I PURSUED MY DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND THEN LATER GENERAL STUDIES WITH A FOCUS ON GOVERNMENT - THREE CHILDREN, A HUSBAND AND A SPIRIT THAT JUST WOULDN'T-COULDN'T QUIT.
LAFOURCHE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD: Miss "G" - Sixth Grade Teacher of Math, Science and Social Studies
Yep! That's me - and You know what? I actually learned more about life from my (inner-city) students than from anywhere else...They inspired me to remember what I loved about strength and courage and yes, love. I had gotten so caught up in a daily head-of-household routine until my vision had been blurred. It was there in an elementary school where I started to learn about me.
Mi Vida Especial! I am proud and grateful to have lived my life with so many colorful hats.
Yep - That's me too... see photo below
From school teacher to ATC Agent I to Special Agent II. Life does have it's mysteries doesn't it?
"I am like the wind in that I have entered places that were seemingly impossible to enter. I am like the water in that I have flowed 'in' just as easily as I have flowed 'out' of my journey; A journey that has been diverse, exciting and all too short-lived." BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE!!!!
SABINA-
"A Life-time is short my friend - It is indeed very short-
So feel free to Love, Love, and Love some more, until it hurts."

NOPD, Mardi Gras and Me - THE IRREVOCABLE "BRETHREN"
These guys are real heroes - I worked very closely with them throughout the Katrina ordeal. My dream is to publish a book in the very near future that will tell the true story from a KATRINA FIRST RESPONDER'S Perspective --- Be On The Lookout for my book it will warm your heart and help to renew your belief in the basic goodness of mankind. Somebody said that I'm an Honorary Member here...Hmmmm!!! Maybe an honorary ZULU?? Actually, I just recently retired from Police Work. I must admit that I exhaled "whoooooooo" and it felt so good to breathe. I have now discovered my greatness and where my true passions lay. It's amazing how miraculous life is. Always know without reservation that THIS IS YOUR LIFE TO CREATE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL WITH. LIFE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grand Canyon North Rim (2004)
Sabina's Grand Canyon - I believe that this is where the spirits come to play and if you listen you will hear them laughing in the wind...My soul has been enriched and I am softly haunted and changed by this place. Truly, my spirit longs to return to experience The Grand Canyon again and again and again - with someone who loves me...
